ASK? was born Adrian Adam Taraba to a Horticulturally enthusiastic Bell Atlantic service rep and a Berklee educated pianist turned electrical engineer on a muggy August evening in 1983. A true bastard, his parents never married, and his father was out of the house before he'd seen nine candles on a cake. With a part-time father and a mother that had to work long hours to feed his ungrateful ass, young Adrian spent most of his time alone, teaching himself to draw, play instruments-- anything to pass the time more pleasently.
By the time he entered the eighth grade, he had played drums, violin, trumpet, harmonica, guitar, bass, and Super Nintendo. He also had discovered two massive marijuana plants growing in his mother's garden, leading him to other, less constructive ways to pleasently pass time.
Being high as hell did not lead to good desicions. ASK? spent most of his high school career vandalizing public property on while tripping on acid. Where there's acid, there's blunts. Where there's blunts, there's cypher sessions and grafitti. Grafitti introduced him to the technicolor world of Hip Hop while giving him his stage name.
After years spent freestyling into the wee hours of the morning (and getting into trouble with the law), ASK? decided he was going to persue his lifelong dream of bieng a professional musician. He promptly dropped out of the community college's fine arts curiculum and hustled to build a home recording studio.
Handling everything from production to visual art to real emceeing, this multitasking artist linked up with Beat Garden Entertainment after a chance performance at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia in August of 2006. He shared the stage with Professor Anarchy, Subliminal Orphans and Zilla Rocca of Clean Guns. The rest, as they say, is about to be history.
