That is Knowledge Don aka Nico the Beast, one half of Clean Guns, in a nutshell. After a near-death experience at the age of five years old, and some run-ins with the law at thirteen, Nico grabbed the pen and pad at 14 years old and never looked back.
Growing up in South Philly in the 80's alongside lifelong friend Zilla Rocca, Nico would later hone his skills as an MC after listening to Canibus, Wu-Tang, Big Punisher, Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z. After winning endless battles on the streets for years, Nico would join The Frat alongside fellow spitters One Time and Bless, recording demos and continuing to perfect his craft. His style now is a blend of Styles P's straightforward rhymes with the rapid wordplay of Kool G Rap and the intelligence and storytelling ability of The GZA.
After becoming a father in 2002 and a husband in 2005, Nico's drive to succeed in hip hop has been unmatched. A man who lives in the studio, Nico has completed the Clean Guns debut album SOMETIMES THERE IS TROUBLE and the follow-up mixtape LIVING IN HARMONY. Setting the streets on fire with his track "Regarded As Great," a 48 bar lashing from LIVING IN HARMONY, Nico recently spit on 14 cuts for the YADIBOX.COM MIXTAPE. Highlights include "Nico's Theme" and "The Thirst (P.H.I.L.A.)" featuring One Time and Bless.
Next, he and Zilla Rocca contributed 5 cuts to the first Beat Garden Producer Series EP (Clean Guns & Cali-based producer WDHQ), all the while putting the finishing touches on his debut album NO BEAST SO FIERCE, which features the entire Beat Garden roster.
